Co-founder and Vice President of the Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism.
The foundation awards grants to nonprofit organizations that provide services for children with autism, and to organizations that conduct research on the causes and effects of autism.

New England Women’s Fund, Philanthropy Award 1999, Woman of the Year
New England Hero Award, Sport in Society, 1999, Northeastern University
Heroes Among Us Award, by the Boston Celtics, The Boston Globe and Fox Sports.
Rochester Press Radio Club Woman of the Year for Sportsmanship and Achievement, 1999
The 500 Club Woman of the Year, June 2002

Advice to Students:

Be responsible, but enjoy high school, it is the time of your life before adult responsibilities set in.  
Life will hand you obstacles but try to deal with them in the most positive way possible.  
Living life with a smile on your face will make you a happier person.
