Representative in the Massachusetts House of Representatives, 1959-1978.
Chair, Natick committee for John F. Kennedy's 1952 and 1958 runs for Senator, and his 1960 run for President.
As a state representative he filed the bill that required there be a daily program of physical education in all public schools in Massachusetts.
He filed the bill that cleared the way for the development of the Natick Mall.
Town Meeting member and Trustee of Morse Institute Library.
